Adafruit 16-Channel PWM / Servo Bonnet for Raspberry Pi

Adafruit 16-Channel PWM / Servo Bonnet for Raspberry Pi

The Adafruit 16-Channel PWM/Servo Bonnet adds precise servo and PWM control to your Raspberry Pi. With an onboard PCA9685 controller, it drives up to 16 servos simultaneously without taxing the Pi's processor, delivering perfect timing pulses every time.

The I2C interface uses only 2 GPIO pins, and you can stack up to 62 bonnets for control of up to 992 servos. Works with any servo that accepts 5V power and 3.3V logic signals (adjustable to 5V via solder jumper).

Key Features

  • 16 PWM/Servo Channels – Independent control with 12-bit precision
  • I2C Interface – Uses only 2 pins, stackable up to 62 boards
  • Free-Running PWM – Up to 1.6 KHz, no CPU overhead
  • Bonnet Form Factor – Fits Pi Zero, A+, B+, Pi 2, Pi 3, Pi 4, and Pi 5
  • Adjustable Logic Level – 3.3V default, 5V via solder jumper
  • Python Library – Easy setup with Adafruit's CircuitPython library

Ideal For

  • Robotic projects requiring multiple servos
  • Pan-tilt camera systems
  • Animatronics and prop automation
  • LED dimming and lighting control

Package Contents

  • 1× PWM/Servo Bonnet (unassembled)
  • 1× 2-pin terminal block
  • 1× 2.1mm DC barrel jack
  • 4× 3×4 pin headers
Note: This kit requires through-hole soldering to assemble. Does not include Raspberry Pi, servos, or 5V power supply. Any 3-pin hobby servo is compatible.
